Lother named President of Panorama
Public Relations
November 2008

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. — November 8, 2008 — Birmingham-based Panorama Public Relations has appointed Sonja Lother to the position of President. Company founder Darlene E. Rotch will remain as Chief Executive Officer.

Lother joined the firm as Director of Communications in June 2004. She was named senior vice president last year.

Lother has more than 20 years of corporate communications experience, including work with one of Birmingham’s largest privately-held companies and a Fortune 200 corporation. In addition, she has communications experience in industries such as manufacturing, engineering and construction, publishing, healthcare, information technology, non-profit and insurance. Lother has also provided communication services to international and national companies and has received several national awards for her communications work. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Exchange Club.

“From the beginning, Sonja has been instrumental in the growth of Panorama Public Relations into a full-service PR firm,” said Rotch. “With her experience, she is in a position to lead this firm into its second decade of service.”

Panorama Public Relations recently marked its tenth anniversary, which it celebrated with a private reception of clients, business partners and friends.

After founding the company in Huntsville, Ala., as Darlene Vaughn Marketing and Public Relations in 1997, Darlene Rotch incorporated PPR Communications, LLP as a partnership in 1998. The company moved its corporate headquarters to Birmingham in 1999, and proceeded to do business as Panorama Public Relations. Over the past decade, Panorama Public Relations has evolved into a firm that specializes in environmental and workforce issues management as well as fashion and lifestyle. The company has served high-profile clients nationwide.

Earlier this year, Panorama launched TEN (Time and Effort for Nonprofits), a campaign that will benefited ten nonprofit organizations in the Birmingham area, to commemorate its anniversary. In total, Panorama was able to donate more than 200 hours to its chosen nonprofits throughout the campaign.
